What do sensory differences look like?

  • Do you or your child have intense responses to events in your/their day?  Does you or your child often seem over sensitive or overwhelmed?

  • Or possibly, do you or your child have nothing that really phases you/them or you/their engagement is minimal?

  • Do you or your child struggle with meltdowns or task refusal that is interrupting the daily routine?   Do you/they have trouble calming yourself/themselves and perhaps act out when frustrated, making it difficult to socialize with peers or siblings?

  • Do you or your child have difficulty attending to or completing the things you/they need to get done during your/their day?

  • Is your child not keeping up with the development of their motor skills and not coordinated to produce movements like their peers?  Or perhaps they don’t have the endurance to perform movement tasks during the day at an age appropriate level?

  • Do you have a child that is limited to eating a handful of foods and has difficulty remaining seated at the table or eating with others?

Do these questions resonate with you?  Then you or your child may have difficulty processing sensory input and may benefit from services at Willow Integrated Therapy, specializing in treating sensory difficulties and effectively helping children overcome the challenges above.  People can demonstrate difficulties with sensory processing independent of other diagnoses. Difficulties processing sensory information can also be shared with Autism, ADHD and Anxiety diagnoses or symptoms.

We will work to improve you or your child’s needed skills and make you/them better able to maintain a calm-alert state throughout your/their day.  You/your family will be taught strategies and ways to frame the meaning behind you or your child’s stress behaviors and be given the tools to help you or your child succeed.
